Day 1: Salt Lake City to Moab (Canyonlands National Park)

You’ll be picked up in Salt Lake City (at the airport or a nearby hotel) in a comfortable Mercedes Sprinter (or similar vehicle). Enjoy the views of the Wasatch range mountains as we begin our tour. We’ll drive to Moab (about 3 hour 45 minute drive). Along the way we visit a fabulous little museum in Price Utah dedicated to the human and natural history of this area. Later we’ll visit recently discovered, and relatively unknown, horde of dinosaur tracks. We’ll then spend time in Canyonlands National Park, experiencing vistas that stretch more than 70 miles in all directions. Possible hikes include the famous Mesa Arch, Aztec Butte Trail (with ancient Indian structures still intact), and Grandview trail. We’ll overnight in the cozy town of Moab.

Day 2: Arches National Park and Moab region

Be inspired as we get an early start this morning to hike to Delicate Arch the largest freestanding stone arch anywhere in the world! Time permitting, other hikes to consider in Arches National Park are the Park Avenue, Balance Rock, the Windows, Double Arch.

Day 3: Moab to Capitol Reef National Park

After a hearty breakfast we’ll drive to Capitol Reef National Park (2 hours 30 minutes). Time permitting, along the way we may visit Goblin Valley State Park that includes an incredible assortment of fantastic rock formations. Hikes in Capitol Reef National Park will show us amazing ancient rock art, a beautiful natural rock bridge, and breath-taking vistas and overlooks. We’ll relax at Capitol Reef Resort in the evening.

Day 4: Capitol Reef National Park to Bryce (overnight in Kanab)

This morning we’ll drive one along one of the best kept secrets in the Unites States, majestic highway 12.  We’ll pass through Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument and near three Utah State Parks: Kodachrome Basin, Anasazi State Park, and Escalante Petrified Forest (2 hours 40 minutes). We’ll then explore Bryce National Park. Possible hikes in Bryce include: Navajo Loop Trail, Queen’s Garden Trail, or the Bristlecone Loop Trail. We’ll overnight in beautiful Kanab, Utah about 90 minutes from Bryce.

Day 5: Kanab to Zion National Park

Drive to Zion National Park and explore its wonders (40 minutes).  Be wowed by the splendor of Zion’s vistas on The Canyon Overlook Trail, and get into the heart of Zion Canyon on the unmatched and unforgettable Narrow’s hike (see image below). Overnight in comfortable lodgings in Springdale, Utah (right near the entrance of Zion National Park).

Day 6: Zion National Park to Salt Lake City

We’ll spend one final, glorious morning experiencing Zion National Park.  Possible hikes include: Emerald Pool Trail, Weeping Rock Trail, and Riverside Trail.  At noon leave for Salt Lake City (4 hours and 30 minutes).  We’ll stop for lunch and rest breaks along the way.
